The Social Project · last updated 2026
The Social Project is a social-skills practice game. We designed it to collect as little as possible. This policy explains what happens to your data.
By default the game runs a fully on-device engine. Your progress, scores, streaks, display name, added friends, and settings are stored only in your browser/app on your device (via local storage). We do not collect or transmit them.
If you turn on Real AI, the text of your messages in a practice conversation (and, if you attach one, a photo you choose) is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic, or another provider we configure) solely to generate the character's reply. We do not use it to identify you and we do not sell it. The provider processes it under their terms.
If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture to create your profile. If a global-leaderboard backend is enabled, your chosen display name, race times/scores, and sponsored-quest interactions may be stored to power the worldwide leaderboard and sponsor reporting. Sponsor reports are aggregate and do not identify you.
You can play entirely offline (leave Real AI off). You can reset all local data from Settings → Reset progress, or by clearing site data in your browser. Sign out to remove a connected profile from your device.
